Keeping Your Lungs Healthy
As the recent COVID-19 virus spreads across the globe, one of its most dangerous symptoms is how it affects breathing. COVID-19 attacks the lungs causing coughing and mild to severe shortness of breath. And it has been a harsh reminder of the importance of lung health.

Our lungs keep us alive and well and that’s why it's important to take good care of them. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 2017, chronic lower respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, were the fourth leading cause of death in 2017.

The May webinar, Keeping Your Lungs Healthy highlights what you can do every day to reduce your risk of lung disease. Given the many factors that can have an effect on your lungs, some basic knowledge and prevention tips can help you limit these threats.

The webinar will focus on:
1. Tips to keeping your lungs healthy
2. Tobacco cessation, including e-cigarettes and vaping
4. Allergies and asthma
5. Exercise

As a bonus, guest speaker Dr. Chidinma Chima-Melton a pulmonologist at UCLA Health – will be presenting this special webinar and discussing many different aspects of lung health.
